Types paints and their use in interiors

It might seem that choosing the paint to cover the walls in our dream interior is an extremely easy thing to do, but it is important to remember that, in addition to the visual aspects, it is worth focusing on the quality of the product and its functionality. When it comes to paint selection, these things can always go hand in hand.

Appearance or functionality?

Painting is one of the most important tasks a professional performs when finishing a dwelling. So why is it so important? We should remember that we are always exposing our walls to various types of mechanical damage, dirt and moisture in the rooms.

Another important issue is choosing the right manufacturer. Guided by the quality of the products, we can be sure that our room will look new for longer.

Painting a new, previously uninhabited room is different from painting a flat where the walls have previously been covered with paint. Before choosing the paint, it is worth checking whether the walls have been painted before, and if so, prepare them properly, check whether the old paint is not coming off, so that the refreshed room will be pleasing for as long as possible. When starting to paint your flat, you should prepare the right equipment, such as paintbrushes or painter's tape.

Paint types - what to look out for?

Paints differ in terms of performance, composition or quality, among other things. The most commonly chosen paints include:

  • Acrylic paints - are the most popular choice. They cover effectively, are waterproof and can be used in any room whether it is a bedroom, office or garage.
  • Latex paints - like acrylic paints, they cover well and their biggest advantage is abrasion resistance, so they can be used in rooms where there is humidity, such as bathrooms and kitchens.
  • Vinyl paints - this type of paint is mainly suitable for utility rooms, and is not as stain-resistant as acrylic or latex paints, so there may be difficulties when cleaning.
  • Ceramic paints - contain ceramic particles in their composition. They create a coating that does not absorb dust and is stain-resistant. Ideally suited for kitchens or children's rooms.

Let us remember that we currently have a very wide range of choices on the market from colours, types and also manufacturers. The aforementioned types are just a few of the possibilities we can decide on.

White or colourful?

These days, modernity and simplicity reign supreme, but there are no specific guidelines. The colour we paint our walls with should depend on our expectations, and whether we feel more comfortable with minimalism or the opposite.

Remember that walls do not always have to be just one colour, if you feel they lack energy you can opt for patterns. Guided by the choice of colour, let's also focus on the rest of the interior, so that the whole is coherent and pleasing to the eye. We are happy to help you with your selection, design and use the best paints for professionals.
