About the project
The body of the building was designed to combine modern and traditional architectural elements. The primary aim of the design was to combine the appearance of a residential building and a smithy. To achieve this, a similar architectural form was used for both buildings, together with gable walls and brick elements that relate to tradition.
The house has been designed with a modern approach that references traditional eaves. The upper part of the body of the building is emphasised with a floor designed in a lighter colour, which projects from the body, creating a canopy effect similar to the eaves. The gable walls, characteristic of the region's architecture, are also emphasised. Hand-formed brick is an element that refers to the classic architectural patterns of the Lesser Poland region, and this has been applied to both the residential building and the smithy.
On the ground floor there is a vestibule, a hallway, a large living and dining room, and a comfortable kitchen with a traditional table and chairs. There is also a pantry in the kitchen, which, unlike typical storage rooms, is a traditional pantry with insulated walls and adequate ventilation to ensure a reduced temperature.
